A welcome letter from the editor

Dear Wayfarer
It’s not often that one has the opportunity to give advice out freely in an unsolicited manner, which is what makes the ‘blog’ platform a curious, and, sometimes precarious vehicle… having said that, I will try as much as possible to lead you down the right path to a more interesting experience wherever your travels may take you.
I named this column “The Modern Wayfarer” because the insight we hope to share with you here is about putting a bit of the adventure back into your travels. The exercise in hoop-jumping that twenty-first century travel has become is trying its best to have us forget that when we travel, wherever we travel, we are embarking on an adventure. At Vikram Chatwal Hotels we’ve tried in earnest to create hotels that give you something to contemplate after you leave, and more importantly, add to your experience away from home. When you go out into the world, always come back with more than you left with and at the same time, leave a bit of yourself behind… and carry a good piece of luggage because there’s nothing worse than seeing your underclothes showcased for your fellow wayfarers on the baggage carousel.
